Today, November 21, 2023, saw the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, joined by Luanda Province Governor, Manuel Homem, Secretary of State for Energy, António Belsa da Costa, ministry officials, and EPAL administrators, among others, conducting a visit to various EPAL projects in Luanda, the capital city.
The Phase III of the Candelabro Water Treatment Plant underwent thorough examination during the visit. It’s noteworthy that this infrastructure was constructed to boost water supply capacity and alleviate shortages in specific areas of Luanda.
Additionally, the visit encompassed the inspection of the New Airport Water Distribution Center (Lot Q5), a venture designed to hold a reserve capacity of 40,000 cubic meters, benefiting approximately 789,943 residents.
Another evaluated project was the Bom Jesus Water Distribution Center (Lot Q8), an element of the 5 Quilonga Grande system, presently in its initial construction phase, with around 5.72% physical execution completed. It’s projected to have a reserve capacity of 30,000 cubic meters.
Concluding the field trip, the Minister of Energy and Water, alongside the Luanda Governor, ceremonially inaugurated the KK 5000 agency, which includes a service hall equipped with five counters, an office, and a spacious waiting area.
