IV Energy Security Dialogue Between Angola and the United States
On June 13, the IV Energy Security Dialogue between Angola and the United States was held at the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas in Luanda. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the support for energy security in Angola, particularly regarding energy production and electricity access.
Leading the Angolan delegation was João Baptista Borges, the Minister of Energy and Water, while the U.S. delegation was headed by Geoffrey Pyatt, Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources.
The Energy Security Dialogue (ESD) concentrated on topics concerning the reliable and stable supply of energy and enhancing commercial relations in this domain.
The discussions between João Baptista Borges from Angola and Geoffrey Pyatt from the United States mainly revolved around ensuring a secure and stable energy supply, bolstering trade ties in this sector, and deliberating on energy security.
Also attending the meeting were José Barroso, the Angolan Secretary of State for Petroleum; Pedro Afonso, Chairman of PRODEL-EP; Rui Gourgel, Chairman of RNT-EP; Helder Adão, Chairman of ENDE; Sebastião Martins, Chairman of Sonangol; José Quarta, Board Representative of IRSEA; and representatives from ANPG.
