Police still hunting driver after hit-and-run leaves biker, 19, seriously injured

Police are continuing their search for a driver who fled the scene after a hit-and-run crash that left a biker seriously injured almost a week ago.

The incident occurred last Saturday evening on Main Street, when a driver struck a biker and quickly drove away without stopping to assist the victim. The biker, who has not been identified, suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital. The driver responsible for the accident is still at large and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Since the incident, the police have been actively investigating the case and following up on any leads. However, their efforts have not yet yielded any solid leads.

Chief of Police, John Smith, expressed his frustration over the delay in finding the driver. He stated, “It’s disheartening to see someone hit another person and simply drive away without taking responsibility. We are doing everything in our power to find the driver and bring them to justice.”

The incident has sparked outrage in the community, with many expressing their concerns over the safety of the roads for bikers. This incident serves as a reminder for drivers to be more cautious and aware of their surroundings while on the road.

The victim’s family and friends are also pleading with the public to come forward with any information that may lead to the driver’s identification. They have set up a fundraiser to cover the victim’s medical expenses and to help with their recovery.

Sergeant Jessica Adams from the Traffic Division is leading the investigation and is asking for the community’s help. She stated, “We are relying on the public to come forward with any information, no matter how small it may seem. Even the smallest detail could be crucial in solving this case.”

The search for the driver has been ongoing with the police conducting thorough searches of the area and reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses. They have also reached out to the public, posting the incident on social media and asking for any witnesses to come forward.

Despite the challenges, the police remain optimistic and are determined to find the driver and bring them to justice. They are also asking for the driver to do the right thing and turn themselves in.

In the meantime, the victim is still recovering from their injuries and is in stable condition. Their family and friends are hopeful for a full recovery and are grateful for the support and well-wishes they have received from the community.

As the search for the driver continues, the police are urging drivers to be more mindful and to always stop and assist in case of an accident. Hit-and-run crashes not only leave victims with physical injuries but also with emotional trauma. It is the responsibility of all drivers to ensure the safety of others on the road.

The police are confident that with the help of the community, the driver responsible for this heinous act will be brought to justice. They are asking anyone with information to contact the Traffic Division or Crime Stoppers to provide tips anonymously.

Let’s come together as a community and help the police find the driver and bring closure to this case. Our roads should be safe for everyone, and it is our collective responsibility to make that a reality.
